DescriptionThe whole story▼

Manga is the least expensive way into the carbon shell and the busiest graphic Nexx puts on it — four colours worked across a shell that already has plenty going on. It is the version for riders who want the helmet noticed.

A streetfighter shell with a spoiler that works

The shape is the reason most people buy this helmet, so it is worth saying that the shape is also functional. The rear spoiler reduces drag and adds high-speed stability; the vent housings sit where the intakes need to be; the aperture is cut for a forward riding position rather than an upright one.

🔵 It is a road helmet. There is no peak and no goggle provision.

About the Manga White Red graphic

Four values on one shell is a lot, and whether it works depends entirely on the drawing keeping them organised. Manga does that by giving each colour its own region rather than blending them, so the graphic reads as panels rather than as pattern. On a streetfighter shell with a functional rear spoiler and hard-edged vent housings, that panelled approach follows the structure instead of fighting it. 🔵 Busy graphics date faster than plain ones and are harder to match if you later want a matching part — order against the exact designation. The white areas also show road film noticeably sooner than the dark ones.

The X-PRO Carbon 3K shell

This version uses the X-PRO Carbon 3K shell — the lighter of the two constructions at 1600 g against the composite shell's 1675 g. Three outer shell sizes cover XXS to XXXL.

🔵 The chin carries an X-Foam EPP bumper on both shells, and both hold the same four approvals: ECE 22-06, DOT, CCC and NBR.

Shell Construction Weight Decors
X-Matrix2 multiaxial fibreglass multi-composite 1675 g claimed — 1673 g measured (size M) Plain, B-Side
X-PRO Carbon 3K 3K carbon fibre 1600 g claimed Manga, Zero Pro, Hadal, Lava

Anti-Vibration EPS — two shells and a rubber layer

The part of the helmet in contact with your head is the inner EPS, and here it is not rigidly bonded to the outer one. A rubber trim lets it micro-move, absorbing vibration that would otherwise pass straight through.

🔵 The stated benefits are head stability and a smoother ride at speed. It is not an impact-protection feature.

Recoil visor, sun visor and the spare in the bag

🔵 The visor bag is the accessory most owners never unpack and the one that keeps the spare visor usable. A loose visor in a pannier is a scratched visor within a week — and a scratched visor flares against oncoming headlights at night.

Both supplied visors are clear; the internal sun visor handles daylight glare.

Six intakes, two chambers — and a 4/5 measurement

The airflow path is unusual and worth describing properly: air enters through the intakes, travels through the gap between the inner and outer EPS around the head, and exits at the rear. Most helmets simply pass air over the crown under the liner.

Independent measurement scored the result 4/5, which is a good outcome for a road helmet.

How quiet it actually is

🔵 A quiet helmet is usually a badly ventilated one, because the same openings do both jobs. The X.WST3 scored 4/5 for noise and 4/5 for ventilation in the same independent test, which is an unusual combination and suggests the intake shaping is genuinely well resolved.

The measured noise figure was 100 dB.

Interior, retention and fit

The alveolar mesh stitched into the Air Cumbs crown pad holds a gap between the EPS and the fabric, so incoming air has somewhere to travel rather than being absorbed immediately by the lining.

🔵 That is part of why the ventilation measured 4/5 rather than merely looking impressive on paper.

1600 grams, and the rest of the honest list

Nexx quotes 1600 g for the X-PRO Carbon 3K shell — 75 g under the composite version, which was independently weighed at 1673 g against a 1675 g claim.

🔵 That accuracy on the composite version is a reason to take the carbon figure seriously. It is still a heavy road helmet: the same test scored weight 2 out of 5.

Comms, camera and spare parts

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06. A pattern visor with different optical properties is not the helmet that was approved.

Everything we stock for the X.WST3 is Nexx's own, including DKS553 Pinlock lenses.
