DescriptionThe whole story▼
Green is rare on helmets and common on adventure motorcycles, which is exactly why this version exists. The FURKA in green and yellow is the one that matches the bike rather than contrasting with it.
Anti-Vibration EPS — two shells and a rubber layer
Comfort systems are usually padding. This one is structural: a rubber layer between the inner and outer EPS, allowing the inner shell to move fractionally and damping the vibration that turbulence produces at speed.
🔵 The same split creates the Mid Airflow Chamber's air path. Two functions, one construction, and both cost weight.
About the FURKA Green Yellow graphic
A deep green with yellow worked through it belongs to the landscape adventure bikes are actually ridden in, and that is a genuinely different register from a race-derived palette. It reads as considered rather than sporting. The yellow element does useful work too — a mid-to-high value against a dark ground gives the helmet a bright edge in flat light without turning it into safety equipment. 🔵 The honest caveat is that green is the hardest colour on this shelf to match if you later want a replacement peak or a second helmet in the family; order against the exact designation rather than the family name.
The X-PRO Carbon shell and the X-Foam bumpers
Carbon costs more for two reasons and only one is material: the layup is more labour-intensive, and on exposed-weave versions the surface has to be good enough to show. That is why bare-carbon finishes sit above painted ones built on the identical shell.
This is the X-PRO Carbon shell, claimed at 1725 g, with X-Foam bumpers at the chin and sides.
| Shell | Construction | Weight (Nexx) | Decors |
|---|---|---|---|
| X-Matrix2 | multiaxial fibreglass + 3D organic fibre, Kevlar/aramid, carbon reinforced | 1790 g ±50 | Plain, GOBI |
| X-PRO Carbon | carbon fibre | 1725 g | Wild Pro, KEYO, FURKA, Zero Pro, Golden Dune |
F.R.S.® — both cheek pads at once
Nexx's Fast Release System is patent-pending and does one thing well: it frees both cheek pads at once. Lift the rubberised arms, slide the red buttons back, and the pads come away without tools.
For the rider that means easy cleaning. For anyone helping after a crash it means one action instead of two, with less movement of the head and neck.
Recoil visor, sun visor and the second shield in the box
Three optical layers rather than two: the Recoil outer visor with its included Pinlock 70 MaxVision lens, and the internal sun visor behind them. Between them they handle rain, fog and glare without carrying a second visor in your luggage.
🔵 A spare visor is supplied in the box all the same.
Seven intakes — and a measurement that disagrees
Closable vents are worth more in northern Europe than open ones. Seven intakes that all shut make this a helmet you can wear in February, which a fixed-vent adventure helmet is not — and the winter case is the one the design clearly answers well.
🔵 The summer case is the contested one: measured cooling scored 1/5 in independent testing.
How loud it actually is
If noise is your deciding factor, the honest recommendation is a road helmet rather than a different colour of this one. Adventure helmets are louder by design, and this one sits mid-field among them.
🔵 The measured figure is 103 dB at 130 km/h with a 3/5 score; taking the peak off is what improves it most.
Interior, materials and fit
Everything that touches skin comes out: cheek pads through the F.R.S. mechanism, crown pad and chin-strap covers separately. On a helmet that will see dust, sweat and long days, that is a maintenance feature rather than a luxury.
The materials are X-Mart Dry and alveolar mesh, with faux leather trim at the front.
1725 grams, and the rest of the honest list
1725 g is a lot for a helmet, and the reason is structural rather than careless: two EPS shells, a rubber interlayer, X-Foam bumpers at chin and sides, an internal sun visor mechanism and a peak. Every one of those is a feature you can point to.
🔵 If none of them matters to you, a lighter helmet exists and costs less.
Goggles, comms, camera and spare parts
The top camera mount is usable with or without the peak fitted, which is a small piece of design thinking that pays off in practice — most helmet camera mounts assume one configuration and become useless in the other.
🔵 The side mount is removable and the chin mount offers four positions. The kit is a separate purchase.
