The Konix Evo is the one you pick when the exhaust is meant to be looked at as well as heard: a conical titanium case, edges cut sharp rather than radiused, and a carbon end cap drawn with a design studio in Maranello.

Build Quality & Materials

What separates the Konix Evo from the silencer it replaced is the geometry. A conical shell is harder to roll and harder to weld cleanly than a parallel one, and the sharp transitions Spark uses leave nowhere for a poor seam to hide. That is the reason the design reads as expensive: it is difficult to make.

The internals follow the same logic as the shell. Perforated tube and inner end cap are titanium too, and that is where most of the weight advantage actually sits — a titanium skin over steel internals would look identical and weigh considerably more. The heat shield that comes with the group keeps boot and bodywork clear of a component running at exhaust-gas temperature.

Performance & Sound

The Konix Evo volume is sized to sit inside the noise limits enforced at most European circuits — Spark's own description of the design. On the R9 it is the silencer fitted to the GYA8802T system, which is the version built for a standard chassis. Spark publishes no separate decibel figure for the silencer group on its own; if you are riding a series with a hard ceiling, ask us for the measurement sheet for the complete system.

Fitment & Compatibility

Pairs with either R9 collector Spark builds — GYA8801 for a Supersport chassis, GYA8802 for a standard one. What it will not do is bolt to the Yamaha manifold, because the inlet is cut for Spark tube. Riders who prefer the ribbed case over the conical one should look at GYA8801ST.

Road Approval

There is none. Spark issues no certificate for this silencer group, and without one it cannot legally go on a motorcycle used on the road.
