Where It Sits
Dimensionally this is 23.3 mm, 36 mm, 190 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Both diameters and the length are specification rather than approximation. Guides and sleeves set the internal alignment of a cartridge. Guide bushings set the internal alignment of a cartridge.
Genuine Service Part
Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.
Identifying the Right Part
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21916-02 in this case. The published dimensions are inner diameter 23.3 mm, outer diameter 36 mm, length 190 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins uses low-friction coated bushings so the unit breaks away smoothly rather than sticking. Bushings carry the side load in a damper or fork and keep the moving parts concentric.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
