Construction and Materials

The choice of Ergal 7075 — the same aerospace-grade aluminium used in top-level motorsport components — defines the character of this chain tensioner. CNC-milling from solid billet rather than casting eliminates internal voids and inconsistencies, producing a part with uniform density and predictable behaviour under the cyclic loads of a race environment. The anodised finish adds surface hardness and corrosion resistance without adding meaningful weight.

Performance on Track

Chain tension management is critical on a high-output machine like the R1 in track trim. The TEYA009's external adjustment screw means pit-lane chain checks can be carried out quickly and precisely, without the guesswork that comes from eyeballing marks on a standard adjuster. The laser-engraved scale keeps both sides in perfect alignment, protecting the chain, sprockets and gearbox output shaft from the accelerated wear that misalignment causes.

The integrated brake caliper mount is a thoughtfully engineered feature for riders who have altered their swingarm geometry or are running non-standard rear suspension configurations. By relocating the caliper rearward within the adjusted geometry, brake torque reaction and pedal feel remain consistent regardless of the ride-height or linkage changes made to the chassis.

Important Fitment Notes

Installation of the TEYA009 requires modification of the drivetrain kit (rear sprocket carrier). Please ensure this work is carried out before fitting. The optional fork kit FTEYA005 is available separately and complements this component for a fully optimised track setup.
