DescriptionThe whole story▼

The SC82 carries a Brembo or Nissin front brake depending on the version, and either deserves a lever without slop at the pivot. Gilles puts two ball bearings where most levers use plain bushes, so nothing moves before the master cylinder does and the first millimetre of travel is already braking.

Key Features

  • Span adjustment: five positions, set by a precise and smooth adjuster
  • Coloured inserts at the lever end can be exchanged
  • An optional remote adjuster can be retrofitted to change the span while riding
  • CNC-machined from high-strength aluminium, anodised
  • Folding lever, swings clear instead of breaking in a fall
  • Road legal under ABE No. KBA 91507

Check the brake first

Gilles notes that on the SC82 this lever fits the RR version with the Nissin brake system only. If your bike has the Brembo system, ask us for the matching number.

Five stages

The reach adjuster runs smoothly under a glove and holds its setting; a remote adjuster for use while riding can be added later.

Road Approval

Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91507, which Gilles gives for the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R. The approval number is marked on the part itself. Gilles does not publish the document, so we quote the number and not its conditions; ask us if you need them before ordering.

Scope of Delivery

Supplied as a single MPL brake lever in black. Gilles offers the clutch lever under its own number. On the Honda Fireblade, type SC82, the lever fits the RR version with the Nissin brake system only.

Fitting

The lever replaces the original one at the master cylinder, with the original pivot bolt and nut. Set the span, then check that the brake light switch and the free play behave as before and that the lever folds and returns by itself.
