DescriptionThe whole story▼

This is a structural part, not bodywork. It replaces the rear subframe of the S1000RR with a carbon monocoque that carries the seat, the rider and whatever the tail section is bolted to. It is the most serious component Fullsix builds for this motorcycle and the one that needs the most thought before ordering.

Key Features

  • Complete rear subframe as a carbon monocoque, replacing the original structure
  • 245 Twill weave in clear coat, matt, raw or twill satin
  • Autoclave-cured laminate designed as a load-bearing structure rather than a cover
  • Mounts to the original subframe attachment points on the main frame
  • Substantially lighter than the original, in the one place where mass sits high and rearward

Read This Before Ordering

A subframe carries the rider. Fullsix publishes no ABE, no EC type-approval number and no load test data for this part, which means a road-registered motorcycle fitted with it may not be compliant in your country, and an insurer may take a view on it after an incident.

That is not an argument against the part — it is a racing component and it is sold as one. It is an argument for establishing the position with your registration authority, or with the technical regulations of the series you ride in, before the money is spent rather than afterwards.

Fitment and Compatibility

BMW S1000RR, model years 2023 to 2026, on the original subframe mounting points. It does not fit the 2019-2022 machines. Check what the original subframe carries on your motorcycle — lighting, plate mount, luggage points — before removing it.

Road Approval

Not documented by the manufacturer. Neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number is published. For road registration, obtain confirmation from the relevant authority before fitting; for circuit use, check the technical regulations of the series or organiser, several of which specify subframe requirements explicitly.

Where the Weight Is

Mass at the back of a motorcycle, high up and behind the swingarm pivot, is the least useful mass there is. It resists changes of direction, it loads the rear under braking and it does nothing for traction. A subframe is therefore one of the few places where a weight saving has a defensible effect on how the motorcycle behaves rather than only on what the scales say.

How much that matters depends entirely on how the motorcycle is used. On a road bike it is a very expensive way to save a few kilograms. On a track machine being built properly, it is one of the first places a builder looks.
