DescriptionThe whole story▼
The ZXC ceramic racing version of Accossato's AGPA38 front pad is listed for the Indian Chieftain from 2014 to 2023. The company calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing, so its natural home is a Chieftain built for bagger competition, where the team adjusts the brake across a race weekend. Riders who tour on their Chieftain will get more from one of the road-oriented versions of the same pad.
Key Features
- AGPA38 front pad in Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing
- For the Indian Chieftain, 2014 to 2023
- Ceramic compound designed for competition
- For race-prepared baggers
- Also available as ST, EV1 and EV2
- Two pads per box for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's catalogue describes ZXC as a ceramic mixture well suited to racing. The ceramic base distinguishes it from the brand's road compounds and gives a particular lever feel once the brake is fully heated, which on a heavy bagger at race speed happens within a lap. ZXC is designed with the company's general goals of limited wear and heat control.
A Race Weekend With a Bagger
For a team running a Chieftain, the brake is tuned like the suspension. Friday practice is for learning how the ceramic pad responds when cold and when hot. Saturday is for adjusting lever reach and refining markers, and Sunday is for racing with confidence. After every session, check pad thickness, look for discolouration on the discs and clear dust from the calipers. Replace both pads in a caliper together and bed in new ones gently. Because a bagger carries its weight high and far forward under braking, it pays to write down the lever setting and brake markers that worked, so the crew can start the next event on the Chieftain from a known baseline instead of guessing again.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA38 for the front of Chieftain models from 2014 to 2023, including the Chieftain 1800 and its Classic (to 2018), Dark Horse and Limited variants. At the rear the brand lists AGPA81. One box re-pads one caliper; count the calipers on the front of your Chieftain. Clean the pistons before retracting them.
Road Approval
There are no approval documents or German ABE on file for this ceramic pad, which Inter-Pace sells for racing and competition only.
