DescriptionThe whole story▼
A supermoto track day starts with a queue at the scrutineering bay, and the Dorsoduro 900 is a common sight in it. Aprilia's twin, built in this form from 2017, is light on its feet and easy to ride on short circuits, and many arrive with little more preparation than tape over the lights. The person with the torch will still look at the brakes, rear included. For the rear brake fluid reservoir of the Dorsoduro 900 of 2017 and 2018, Accossato lists the TS013, an anodised aluminium cap.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900, 2017 and 2018
- Replaces the cap on the original rear reservoir
- CNC-machined from aluminium, anodised
- Choice of seven: blue, orange, silver, black, red, green, gold
- Pairs with the FP001 oil cap and TS004 front cap from Accossato
- Check fitment on Accossato's application list
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Machined from aluminium and then anodised, the TS013 comes in blue, orange, silver, black, red, green or gold. Accossato makes it to fit the original rear reservoirs of the motorcycles on its list, so the pedal, master cylinder and caliper of the Dorsoduro 900 remain untouched. During the swap, the gasket or diaphragm under the old cap deserves a close look. If it is hard or torn, fit a new one before closing the reservoir.
The Scrutineer's Torch
Technical checks at track days and club events vary from one organiser to the next, but most of them share a few priorities: no leaks, nothing loose, brakes that work. A reservoir with a crust of old fluid around the cap draws attention even when it is not leaking, because nobody can tell at a glance. Clean it before the event. With the Dorsoduro 900 upright and the rear reservoir level, wipe the outside with a damp cloth, check that the fluid sits between the marks and that the cap is properly closed. If you fit the TS013 in the days before, protect the paint nearby, since brake fluid attacks it, and rinse any drips off with water. Do not leave the reservoir open longer than needed; the fluid pulls moisture from the air. A clean, dry reservoir, a firm pedal and a cap that is fastened without force make the scrutineer's job quick, and yours as well. The same goes for the oil filler: dry is what they want to see.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Dorsoduro 900, Accossato lists the TS013 on the rear reservoir for 2017 and 2018. In our shop the identical part is also listed under the Dorsoduro 750, the Shiver 750 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400. Accossato's other caps for this bike are the FP001 for the oil filler and the TS004 for the front reservoir. Compare your model year with the list before you place the order.
Road Approval
Neither an ABE nor a test mark is documented for the TS013, and we therefore list it as a competition part for the circuit.
