DescriptionThe whole story▼

The first Dorsoduro 750s appeared in 2008, which means the early bikes have now seen many summers, winters and owners. Mechanically, a well-kept example still does what it did when new, but the small parts often tell the story of the years, and on a supermoto-styled bike with a bare handlebar one of them sits directly in front of the rider: the front brake reservoir. Accossato's TS004 is a cap for that reservoir, CNC-machined from aluminium, anodised in seven colours and listed for the Dorsoduro 750 of 2008 to 2016.

Key Features

  • Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, 2008 to 2016
  • Also listed for the Dorsoduro 750 Factory, 2010 to 2013
  • For the original front reservoir
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Seven colours: silver, black, red, blue, green, orange, gold
  • Matching FP001 oil cap and TS013 rear cap from Accossato
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

For the TS004, Accossato starts with aluminium, machines the cap on CNC equipment and then anodises it. The colour comes from that treatment, and seven are available: silver, black, red, blue, green, orange and gold. Accossato designs the cap for the original front reservoirs of the listed bikes, so the brake system keeps all of its original parts. During the change, look closely at whatever sits beneath the old cap, seal or diaphragm; on a bike of this age it may have lost its elasticity, and in that case it should be renewed rather than refitted.

When the Small Parts Show Their Age

An older Dorsoduro 750 rewards the owner who pays attention to details. Faded markings, a dull or scratched cap and a slightly weeping reservoir are the kind of signs that make a sound bike look neglected, and they are easy to put right. Start by looking at the reservoir itself: the level should sit between the marks, and the fluid should not be dark. If you do not know when it was last changed, assume it is due and have it renewed according to the owner's manual, because a new cap does not refresh the fluid underneath. When you fit the TS004, turn the handlebar so the reservoir sits level, cover the tank and the headlight area with a cloth, and keep the reservoir open no longer than necessary, since brake fluid draws in moisture. Wipe off any drop immediately and rinse the spot with water. Tighten the fixings gently, then squeeze the lever repeatedly with the Dorsoduro at rest. A firm lever and a clean, bright cap make an older bike look like the cared-for machine it is.

Fitment and Compatibility

On Accossato's list, the TS004 is given for the front reservoir of the Dorsoduro 750 from 2008 to 2016 and of the Dorsoduro 750 Factory from 2010 to 2013. Owners of a Dorsoduro 900, a Shiver 750 or a Mana 850 GT will find the same cap in our range. For the Dorsoduro 750, Accossato also offers the FP001 oil filler cap and the TS013 rear reservoir cap. Compare your bike with the application list before ordering, particularly if parts of the brake system have been replaced over the years.

Road Approval

As we have no ABE or other test papers for this cap, the TS004 is intended for race tracks and competition.
