Sprint Filter P14 Air Filter for Dusty Conditions – CFMOTO SR-R 675 (2025–2026) SM290P14

Sprint Filter names three uses for the P14: dust, everyday riding and long distance. The third one changes how the choice is made. A rider setting off on a long route cannot specify the air along it — a week of motorway, then eighty kilometres of gravel roadworks, then a dry plateau in high summer — and whatever is in the box has to cover all of it, because nobody swaps elements at the side of a road. On a CFMOTO SR-R 675 that is the strongest single argument for the fine material over the standard weave.

One element for a route you have not seen

Choosing a filter for a known commute is easy, because the conditions are the same tomorrow as they were yesterday. Choosing one for a journey is a different problem: the worst hundred kilometres of a trip decide what the element has to cope with, and they are usually not the hundred anybody planned for. Taking the fine material is a way of removing that variable before departure. The flow conceded is real, and it is the price of not having to be right about a road nobody has ridden yet.

Serviced anywhere there is air

The second half of the same argument is logistical. This element is cleaned rather than replaced, and cleaning it needs a compressor and nothing else — no oil to carry, no spray to find in a country where the brand is not sold, no part number to order into a town you will have left by the time it arrives. A cover off, ten minutes with an air line, and the panel goes back in. What none of that does is add speed: a drop-in filter does not make a standard SR-R 675 noticeably quicker, and the value here is independence from a supply chain rather than anything on a dyno.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air, applied to the clean face and worked outward, returns the material to service in the ordinary case. Where a film has built up that air cannot lift, lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent will take it off, followed by a thorough rinse. Then leave the SM290P14 in open air until it is dry the whole way through — never against a heater, a hot-air gun or a flame — and refit it with nothing applied to it.
