DescriptionThe whole story▼
Scraper 50/56/5/7, Öhlins part number 05137-01. Assembly grease matters — the wrong compound swells the seal and it fails early.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 05137-01
- Inner Diameter 50 mm
- Thickness 5 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Outer Diameter 56 mm
Where It Sits
Öhlins gives it as 50 mm, 56 mm, 5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Assembly grease matters — the wrong compound swells the seal and it fails early. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks. Öhlins specifies seal compounds for temperature stability rather than for the lowest unit cost.
Genuine Service Part
A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
How to Be Sure It Fits
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 05137-01. Check inner diameter 50 mm, outer diameter 56 mm, thickness 5 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Replacing seals at service intervals is far cheaper than replacing what a failed seal damages. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
