What It Is
21630-14 is the 43 mm, 50 mm, 55 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Öhlins fork parts are specific to the fork model, not interchangeable across the range. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again.
Original Öhlins Part
The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.
Identifying the Right Part
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21630-14 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 43 mm, dimension b 50 mm, dimension c 55 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. A marked inner tube destroys seals repeatedly until it is replaced. Cartridge tubes sit inside the fork leg and do the actual damping.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
