The Dragster is the Brutale with a wider rear tyre and no rear seat. The JP ACS 060 replaces its throttle housing with a machined Ergal unit and a shorter cam.

A Styling Exercise That Worked
MV took the Brutale 800, fitted a 200-section rear tyre, spoked wheels, a shortened tail and no pillion provision, and called it the Dragster. It is slower to change direction than the bike it came from and considerably more striking, and it sold accordingly.
Many Versions, One Motorcycle
RR, RC, SCS, Rosso, America, LH44. MV produced Dragsters in a stream of limited editions distinguished by paint, wheels and clutch. Mechanically they are one machine, which is why a single throttle housing covers all of them.
The Wide Tyre Changes the Input
A 200-section rear needs deliberate throttle application to settle on corner exit, more so than the Brutale's narrower fitment. A shorter cam gives the rider finer control over that first part of the opening, which is where the difference is felt.
Mechanical, Not Electronic
Cable throttle throughout this generation, so the change involves the original cables and nothing else. No wiring is touched and the conversion reverses completely.
Against Exposed Metal
The Dragster shows its trellis frame, its single-sided swingarm and its spoked rims. A machined aluminium throttle housing belongs among those in a way a cast body with a plastic cover does not.
No Logo
This version is plain. Dragsters are frequently ordered in limited editions with their own graphics, and an unmarked component keeps the cockpit from acquiring a second brand's name alongside MV's.
No Pillion Provision
MV removed the passenger seat and the rear pegs entirely rather than making them optional, which is a commitment few manufacturers make. It shortens the tail dramatically and it is a large part of why the Dragster looks the way it does.
