A Hundred and Ninety Kilograms

What the Circuit Watches
Ducati monitors the rear lighting for current draw and reports a failure when it disappears. Removing the tail unit for a track day is enough to trigger it, which is the entire reason this connector exists.
The Panel Argument
A stored lighting fault masks the next fault behind it. Keeping the dashboard honest is worth more than the small cost of the connector itself.
Plugged, Not Spliced
The eliminator uses the motorcycle's own connector, so no wire is cut, stripped or joined anywhere in the loom. Reversal is a matter of swapping one plug for another.
Reversible in Minutes
The factory connector plugs straight back in. There is no soldering to undo, no splice to unpick and no replacement hardware needed anywhere.
Why Removal Trips It
Taking the tail unit off for a track session leaves an open circuit, which is the clearest possible failure signal as far as the controller is concerned.
Bulb Failure Against Circuit Failure
The controller cannot tell the difference and does not try. It measures the load and reports what it finds, which is why a perfectly good LED unit produces the same message a dead filament would.
Where the Heat Actually Goes
The eliminator turns the missing current into warmth, and while the amount is small it has to leave somewhere. Tied where air moves it is never noticed; pressed flat against the inside of a painted seat unit it eventually marks the paint, which is an avoidable and irritating result.
