For the RSV4 Factory, the JP PLDB 009 is the offset-pattern right-hand switch block in machined Ergal.

Two World Titles
Max Biaggi took Aprilia's first World Superbike championship on an RSV4 in 2010 and a second in 2012; Sylvain Guintoli added a third in 2014. Very few road bikes carry that record into a showroom.
What Factory Meant Then
Öhlins suspension, a matching steering damper and forged wheels, over a bike that already had an adjustable frame. The mechanical specification was close to complete, which is what makes the remaining plastic obvious.
Staggered Mounting
The offset hole pattern matches the original master cylinder clamp rather than the radial aftermarket units. Establishing which arrangement a particular Factory carries takes a moment and saves a return.
Four Colours
Black, blue, red and titanium, all anodised through the surface. On the Factory's black and gold scheme, black is the quiet choice and titanium the one that acknowledges the fork legs.
Contacts Under a V4
The 65 degree engine has a firing interval that produces a particular kind of vibration through the bars. A clipped plastic cover gradually loses its grip under it; a machined body has nothing to lose.
Sealed Elements
Military-specification switches enclosed within the billet. Track use means hot washing after every session, and the pressure washer is what actually ends most switchgear on bikes like this.
No Electrical Work
Pre-wired to Aprilia's own connector. The whole job is undoing two screws, unplugging one block and plugging in another, with nothing to configure afterwards.
A Steering Damper as Standard
Aprilia fitted an Öhlins damper to the Factory rather than offering it as an option, which tells you something about how the front end behaves when the engine is used properly. It also puts one more component near the bar that was not chosen for its price.
