The JP ACC DU020 changes how far the Monster 1200's grip has to turn and nothing else, which is a smaller claim than most cockpit parts make and an easier one to keep.

The Big Monster
Upright bars, a wide tank and enough torque to make the front wheel light in the first three gears. The Monster has always been ridden on the throttle rather than around it.
Machined From Solid
Ergal cut on a machine rather than moulded, which is what allows the internal ratio to be held to a figure instead of to a tolerance band.
Why Sixty and Not Less
Below about sixty the hand runs out of useful resolution and small inputs become unusable. It is a chosen figure rather than the shortest possible one.
Torque at the Bar
The clamp screws are small and thread into aluminium. The figures are low and worth looking up rather than guessing at on a handlebar.
Road Legality
The throttle is part of the motorcycle's controls, and a part that changes their operation is worth declaring where local rules require it.
Grips With a Bonded Sleeve
Some factory grips are moulded onto the tube and cannot be recovered. Budget for a new pair rather than discovering it halfway through.
Losing the Original Grip
Bonded grips do not survive removal. A pair of replacements belongs on the same order as the assembly rather than on the next one.
The Fitting Sequence
Bar end out, grip off, switch block loosened and slid inboard, two clamp screws out, assembly lifted clear and unplugged. The new body goes back the same way in reverse. Everything after that is torque and tidiness, and then the diagnostic reset before the motorcycle moves.
After Fitting Different Bars
A change of handlebar moves the switch block and can change the room the assembly has. Measuring before ordering is five minutes; discovering it with the old assembly already off is an evening.
