The JP CJP 082H is the more capable and more demanding of JetPrime's two fuel units for the Vulcan 900 Custom, and it does nothing at all without a wideband and some patience.

Chopped
A twenty-one inch front wheel and a lower seat on the same engine. The Custom is the styling exercise of the Vulcan 900 family.
Interpolation Between Cells
The unit does not jump from one value to the next. It blends between neighbouring cells, which is why a smooth map produces a smooth engine and a spiky one does not.
Mounting the Unit
Under the seat or beneath the tank, secured and dry, with the USB connection reachable without dismantling half the motorcycle. That last point is worth thinking about before the cable ties go on.
Wideband or Nothing
Mapping without measuring the mixture is guesswork with an engine as the test piece. A wideband sensor and a display cost less than most exhaust systems.
Paying for a Map
A dyno session with somebody who knows the engine costs a fraction of the motorcycle and delivers in hours what a winter of evenings might not.
Race Fuel Needs Its Own Map
A different octane and a different energy content change the requirement. Two files, clearly named, and the discipline to write the right one before the session.
Buying Second Hand
The unit transfers between identical motorcycles because nothing in it belongs to one machine. The harness is the part that has to match, not the box.
When the Map Is Good Enough
When another session produces no measurable change and no felt change. Chasing beyond that point costs evenings and returns nothing anybody can detect.
Support and the Community
JetPrime answer questions about their own software, and enough owners run these units that most engines have been mapped by somebody before. Neither replaces measuring your own motorcycle.
