The JP ES KIT19 removes secondary air from the Multistrada 1200 properly: the controller finds what it expects and the cylinder head is closed with aluminium rather than plastic.

Replaced by the 1260
Ducati enlarged the engine in 2018 and added variable valve timing, which makes the 1200 a distinct generation with distinct parts.
Homologation
The system forms part of the motorcycle's type approval where it is fitted, and its removal moves the machine into competition use in those markets.
A Repair as Much as a Deletion
On a machine past its first decade the reed housing has limited life left, so the aluminium half removes a job that was already coming.
Cold Engine, Every Time
Aluminium threads in a hot cylinder head strip more easily than anybody expects, which is why this waits for the motor to cool.
Reversible by Design
Nothing is cut, soldered or drilled. Both original components refit on their own hardware with no replacement seals required.
Weight and Clutter
A few hundred grams and a hose across the top of the engine. The visual difference is more noticeable than the mass.
How the Cover Works
It is machined from solid with the sealing groove cut in the same operation, so an O-ring against the head's finished face is enough. Nothing inside it can age and nothing needs inspecting for the life of the engine.
Why the Two Halves Belong Together
The solenoid is an electrical component the controller monitors; the reed housing is a mechanical one bolted to the cylinder head. Answering one without addressing the other leaves either a warning on the panel or a plastic box that is going to crack eventually. Both sit behind the same tank and the same airbox, so doing them separately means paying for that access twice.
If the Reeds Were Already Cracked
Then the airbox has soot in it and the filter is due whether or not the interval says so. Replacing it at the same time closes the job properly, because the residue that got in there does not leave on its own.
