The JP ES 007 plugs into the Streetfighter V4 where Ducati's secondary air valve did, presenting the winding resistance the controller measures before it decides anything is wrong.

Biplane Winglets
Ducati fitted aerodynamic appendages to a naked bike because two hundred and eight horsepower and a light front end demanded them. They are not decorative.
The Secondary Air Valve
An electrically opened solenoid feeds filtered air into the exhaust ports on a shut throttle, so mixture that escaped the cylinder finishes burning in the header rather than leaving the pipe.
Under the Tank
On most of the range the connector sits above the airbox, which means the tank comes off. The access takes longer than the exchange does.
Nothing Coded
No adaptation, no reset and no dealer appointment. The circuit reads correctly from the first ignition cycle and the display behaves as before.
Write It Down
Anybody diagnosing this motorcycle in five years will assume the emissions hardware is intact. One line in the service book saves an hour of confusion.
Two Parts, Two Prices
Ducati's arrangement splits neatly, so an owner can address the fault now and the mechanical side later. Buying the kit is cheaper than buying both.
Keeping the Harness Original
Nothing is cut, crimped or soldered. On a motorcycle that will eventually be diagnosed by somebody else, an untouched loom is worth more than any saving.
What the System Was Actually For
It exists because emissions legislation measures what leaves the exhaust, and burning leftover hydrocarbons in the pipe improves that measurement without changing anything about combustion. Understanding that is what makes the rest obvious: removing it cannot cost power, because it was never adding any, and it cannot hurt the engine, because it never touched the intake side at all.
Cold Start Is When It Runs
The system does its work in the first minutes after ignition, when the catalyst is still warming and the mixture is richest. A fault therefore often appears on a cold morning and disappears from the rider's mind by the time the motorcycle is warm, which is exactly why the warning stays on the panel.
