DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 002 is the complete answer to the Panigale V4's canister: the drum, the valve, the hoses and the fault the controller stores when the solenoid disappears.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale V4 (2018–2024)
- Removes the charcoal canister, its valve and its hoses
- Vents the fuel tank through a proper fitting
- Answers the purge valve circuit
- Frees the space the canister occupied
- Standard parts refit at any time
The Desmosedici Stradale
Ducati took the MotoGP engine architecture and made it road legal: a 90 degree V4 with a counter-rotating crankshaft, which cancels gyroscopic effects the way nothing else in the class does.
No Service Interval
Nothing in Ducati's schedule inspects or replaces the carbon. It works for some years and then quietly stops, with no warning of any kind.
Not a Performance Change
Removing evaporative control does not free power, sharpen the throttle or improve consumption. The gains are space, access and one fewer thing to fail.
Improvised Removals
A hose cut short and cable-tied to the frame is the usual approach. It vents the tank until the motorcycle lies on its side and then demonstrates the problem.
Refit for a Test
Where an emissions inspection includes a visual check, the standard arrangement goes back in an evening. Keeping the parts is what makes that possible.
Small Parts Go Missing
The clips and bracket bolts disappear from a garage floor. Bagging them at the time is the difference between a smooth refit and a hardware shop visit.
Cold Weather Makes It Worse
Condensation collects in vapour lines running from a warm tank to a cold vessel, and in a hard frost that water can block the narrowest bend.
What Comes Off the Motorcycle
The canister itself, the purge valve, three or four hoses depending on the model, and the brackets holding all of it. It is more than most owners expect and the space it leaves behind is the main reason the job gets done at all.
Hoses Are Not All the Same
The lines between tank, canister and intake carry vapour rather than liquid fuel and are sized accordingly. Reusing one as a vent line because it happens to be the right length is the kind of shortcut that works until a hot day, and it is not worth the twenty minutes it saves.
