DescriptionThe whole story▼
Anyone who races an F 800 R in a club series knows that crashes are part of the budget. BMW's naked parallel twin, listed here from 2009 to 2019, is a compact, agile bike that also finds its way onto circuits, and even a slow slide into a gravel trap tends to cost a lever. When that happens on a Saturday morning, the rest of the weekend depends on whether there is a spare in the van. Accossato's AGD306 is a black replacement brake lever in original form for the F 800 R, designed for value for money, which is what a crash spare should offer.

- For racing and competition, no ABE or test mark documented
Construction and Material Quality
In racing, spare levers are consumables, and Accossato's approach suits that role. The AGD306 follows the original type instead of reinventing it, so the F 800 R keeps the lever shape its rider knows from practice. Accossato designed it for value for money and states that the way it is made gives it better resistance after damage or a crash, although no lever is immune to a hard impact. It comes in black, as listed for this model. Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, says nothing more about it.
Crash Damage Between Heats
After a crash, time in the paddock is short. The technical inspectors will usually want to see the bike again before it goes back out, and a broken or bent lever will not pass. A practical routine helps. Keep spare levers, tools and a small tub of grease in a box that goes to every meeting; strip the damaged lever off, clean the pivot, grease it lightly and fit the new one. Then check that the lever returns fully and that the pressure point is firm before you push the F 800 R to inspection. It is also worth checking the handlebar and the master cylinder mounting for movement, and looking at the other end of the bar for damage that is easy to miss while the adrenaline is still high. Finally, write down what you used, so the box is refilled before the next round.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGD306 for the F 800 R from 2009 to 2019, grouping the bikes into 2009 to 2014 with and without ABS, 2015 and 2016 with ABS, and 2017 to 2019 with ABS. It is the only replacement brake lever on the list; the black AGS299 is the partner on the clutch side. The same brake lever also appears in our shop for the F 800 GS and the F 800 GT. For riders who want a tuning part, Accossato's CNC levers EDB001 and ESB008 are listed for the F 800 R as well.
Road Approval
Since we have no test or approval documents for this lever, no ABE and no test mark, we offer the AGD306 for racing and competition, which suits its role as a crash spare.
