DescriptionThe whole story▼
The VFR name has belonged to Honda's V4 sports tourers since 1986, and the VFR800F of 2014 kept the formula with its VTEC engine, a single-sided swingarm and a fairing built for all-weather riding. Many VFR owners ride all year, so their first track day often comes early in the season, on a cold morning when tyres, hands and brakes all need time to warm up. Accossato's FC125 is listed for the VFR800F from 2014 to 2017, a quick-release cap whose body is CNC-machined from aluminium, with a quick-closing pawl and a coloured pin.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Honda VFR800F, 2014 to 2017
- Body entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing quickly
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Spare pawl available separately
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for use on closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the FC125 on CNC machines, entirely from aluminium, and considers it robust and durable, with a new and attractive design. A quick-closing pawl gives quick access to the tank of the VFR800F and shuts it again in a moment, and it holds a pin in one of six colours; silver or black sit quietly on a tourer, while red or blue stand out. A pawl that gets damaged can be replaced on its own.
The First Track Day of the Year
Early-season track days are often quieter than summer ones, and they come with their own rules. Tarmac is cold in the morning, tyres take longer to reach working temperature and grip builds lap by lap, so the first session is for warming up the bike and the rider rather than for lap times. Cold fingers are clumsy, too. Before you handle fuel, take your gloves off and warm your hands for a minute; a can slips easily from numb fingers, and a pawl closed in a hurry may not be closed fully. Refuel the VFR800F in the paddock with the engine off, pour steadily through a funnel, and check the cap by hand afterwards. Condensation can form on a cold tank and hide a small fuel leak, so wipe the area dry and look again a few minutes later. Between sessions, keep yourself warm and drink something hot; a cold, tired rider is the one who forgets the small checks.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato includes the VFR 800 F in its list for the FC125 from 2014 to 2017. The VFR800X Crossrunner with the same engine has its own entry and its own product page with us. Please check your bike's year against the list before ordering. Among the other bikes we list the FC125 for are the CB650R and the CBR650R.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate have been documented for this cap, so it is sold for the track. For all road riding, the VFR800F keeps its original cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
