DescriptionThe whole story▼
Royal Enfield's Continental GT 650 is a café racer in the traditional mould, with low bars, a long tank and a parallel twin, and it has become a favourite base for personal touches. Owners change mirrors, seats, exhausts and bar ends, and sooner or later the front brake comes into view as well. For the Continental GT 650 of 2019 to 2025, Accossato lists the DKS035, a floating Elite disc with a 320 mm ring, a black carrier and the Accossato logo on its rivets.
Key Features
- Floating front brake disc for the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, 2019 to 2025
- Listed by Accossato for the left side of the front wheel
- Elite line, logo rivets
- 320 mm outer diameter, 72 mm inner diameter
- 5.5 mm friction ring
- Black carrier
- Minimum working thickness printed on the disc
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The DKS035 is built from a 320 mm friction ring and a black carrier with a 72 mm centre, linked by rivets that carry Accossato's logo. The supplier gives the ring's thickness as 5.5 mm. A floating ring can move slightly on its rivets, so the braking surface can expand with heat without straining the centre. Accossato says it developed this know-how in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and it lists low weight as one of the benefits for steering and control.
Personal Touches, Standard Dimensions
Personalising a café racer is part of the fun, but the brakes are the one area where style has to follow function. A replacement disc must match the original in its key dimensions (diameter, thickness, centre bore and bolt pattern), because the caliper position and the pad height on the Continental GT 650 are set for them. Before ordering the DKS035, measure the disc that is on the bike now and compare it with the figures here, and if the bike has been modified, check that nobody has changed the caliper bracket or the wheel.
When the new disc goes on, fit new pads with it and bed them in carefully. Keep cleaning products and polishes for chrome, paint and alloy away from the brake: a café racer that is washed and polished often is more at risk of a greasy disc than a bike that is simply ridden. The black carrier is a detail some owners will like, but the reason to fit a new disc remains the condition of the old one.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list the Continental GT 650 appears from 2019 to 2025, with the disc assigned to the left side of the front wheel. Royal Enfield's 650 twins carry just one front disc, so ordering one DKS035 covers the job. Tighten the bolts to Royal Enfield's specification once the dimensions have been checked as described above.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no type approval have been documented for the DKS035. We offer it for track use.
