DescriptionThe whole story▼
Walk through the paddock at a race meeting and you will often see small Hondas: the MSX125, sold as the Grom in some markets, is a popular way for riders, mechanics and team staff to get around a circuit. Its 12-inch wheels, low seat and light weight suit short hops between garage, pit lane and hospitality, usually at walking pace among people and equipment. Accossato's EDF025 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the MSX125 of 2014 to 2022, with adjustable reach; it is sold for track use, which suits a bike that so often spends its weekends at a circuit.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Honda MSX125, 2014 to 2022
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable at the pivot
- Short blade in silver, blue, gold, green and orange
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm in all seven colours
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, fixed blade
- No German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF025 is cut from solid aluminium on CNC machines and anodised, with a black hub carrying the pivot and adjuster and a blade in the colour you choose. Accossato's experience with brake discs comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3. The lever itself is a simple, rigid part: an even section along the blade and no joint anywhere between hub and tip, so what your fingers do reaches the master cylinder directly.
A Paddock Bike at Race Weekends
A paddock is a busy place to ride. People step out from behind trucks, tyre warmers and stands lie on the ground, and the surface changes from clean tarmac to gravel and grass within a few metres. Speeds are low, but the brake is in use constantly, in small, careful touches rather than hard stops. On a bike this light, the front brake is strong, and a heavy hand can make the small front wheel slide on a dusty surface. That calls for a lever that sits exactly under the fingers and gives a clear, gentle first response. Set the EDF025 closer to the grip than you might on a road bike, so that two fingers rest on the blade while you ride at walking pace, and practise stopping smoothly with light pressure. The short blade, in silver, blue, gold, green or orange, suits this well. Paddock rules on speed, helmets and who may ride are set by each circuit and organiser, so check them before the weekend.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF025 for the MSX125 from 2014 to 2022, one listing that spans the bike's updates within that period. The lever replaces the original on Honda's master cylinder. The ESH250 clutch lever is listed for the same years, so both levers can be ordered as a pair for the MSX125.
Road Approval
A German ABE is not documented for the EDF025, which is why it is sold for track use.
