DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CB1100 is Honda looking back at its own history: an air-cooled four with deep cooling fins, a round headlamp, twin rear shocks and a comfortable, upright seat, all recalling the four-cylinder CBs that began with the CB750 Four of 1969. Its chassis rewards a smooth rider more than a hurried one, and braking is where that shows. Accossato's EDF018 is a replacement front brake lever for the CB1100 of 2013 to 2019 whose span to the grip you can set, cut from aluminium and offered in three lengths.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato was founded in 1969, the year the CB750 Four went on sale, in Moncalieri near Turin, as a maker of competition motorcycles. Its EDF018 is cut from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised, the hub in black and the blade in the colour of your choice. The hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster; the blade is fixed to it rigidly, without the joint of a folding lever. What you get is a lever with crisp, machined edges that sits comfortably with the CB1100's metal-and-chrome character.
Letting the Fork Settle
The CB1100 has a traditional telescopic fork and a relaxed chassis, and when you brake, the front end dives in a way you can feel. Grab the lever hard and the fork compresses abruptly, loading the front tyre in a jolt and unsettling the bike just when you want it calm. The smoother technique takes longer to describe than to do. Squeeze gently at first, just enough to compress the fork a little and press the tyre into the road, then add pressure progressively once the front has settled. The stop becomes shorter and calmer at the same time, because the tyre is ready for the force when it arrives. That first, light squeeze is where lever position counts. If the blade sits too far away, the fingers arrive in a rush; if it is set so that they rest on it naturally, the initial touch can be as delicate as you like. The EDF018 lets you set that distance, and its long blade adds leverage for riders who brake with four fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
According to Accossato, the EDF018 fits the CB1100 from 2013 to 2019, including the version it calls the CB 1100 Gio Special, and it sits on the original master cylinder. The matching clutch lever for the same years is the ESH033. Blue, gold, green and orange blades are made in short, standard and long; silver in standard and short; black and red in standard only.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on record for the EDF018, so it is sold for track use.
