Tagger is the third graphic on this shell and B2 carries it in grey under a matt finish — the quietest of the six, where the design is fully present at close range and the helmet reads as plain from across a street.

What this helmet is — honestly

🔵 „Exceeds ECE 22.06" is MT's claim and we report it as such. What can be verified is that the helmet carries the current homologation — more impact points, higher speeds and a rotational assessment compared with the standard it replaced.

Beyond that, no independent test of the Stinger 2 exists, and SHARP has never listed it.

About the Tagger B2 graphic

Tonal graphics age far better than coloured ones because colours belong to seasons and values do not. A grey treatment carries no reference to a particular year's palette, so it stays legible as design rather than becoming a marker of when the helmet was bought — useful on a helmet likely to be kept until it is worn out rather than replaced for fashion. Grey is also the value at which road film and dust show least. 🔵 Conspicuity is mid-range; matt is washed rather than polished, and a printed graphic cannot be touched in.

HIRP and ECE 22.06

🔵 No independent safety rating exists for this helmet. SHARP has never listed the Stinger 2, and there is no ADAC or Snell result. That means untested rather than poorly rated.

The certification it does hold is ECE 22.06, on a HIRP shell of roughly 1.6 kg.

The sun visor this helmet does not have

🔵 If you are choosing between this and MT's Thunder 4 R SV, the sun visor is one of three differences and probably the deciding one. The others are the supplied Pinlock lens and roughly 100 g of weight.

An optional smoked visor for the Stinger 2 is available and swaps in seconds.

MT-V-28B, MT-QVSS and the Pinlock you buy separately

Two accessories are worth buying with this helmet rather than later: the Pinlock DKS435 insert for winter, and the optional smoked visor for summer. Neither is in the box.

🔵 Together they cost roughly two-thirds as much again as the helmet, and the total still sits below MT's cheapest full-face with a sun visor fitted.

The MT-MDTC closure

A closure is the least glamorous part of a helmet and the one that has to work every single time. MT's MT-MDTC is a micrometric ratchet with double-tooth engagement — quick, precise and glove-friendly.

🔵 It needs its adjustment checked every few months, which a double-D ring does not.

Interior, fit and washing

🔵 Replacement padding is the right answer to a helmet that has loosened with use. Rather than living with one that moves on your head, fit fresh pads — they cost a fraction of a new helmet and restore the fit the lining has lost.

The Stinger 2's interior is fully removable, hypoallergenic and machine-washable.

Universal UCS intercom slot

„Intercom-ready" means different things on different helmets. Here it means a universal UCS slot and dedicated speaker pockets shaped into the lining.

🔵 It does not mean a system is included. Budget for that separately if you want one.

Where it sits in MT's range

At 85 € the Stinger 2 is not the cheapest helmet MT makes — the Street S jet starts at 47 €. It is the cheapest full-face, which is a different and more useful distinction.

🔵 What that buys over a jet is chin and jaw protection, which no open-face helmet provides.

When something wears out

Washing the lining is the single most effective maintenance you can do, and on this helmet it goes in the machine rather than needing hand-washing.

🔵 When washing is no longer enough, complete replacement linings and cheek pads are available separately.
