DescriptionThe whole story

Soul is the graphic family on this shell, and A2 carries it on a white ground — the most conspicuous version in the range and the one best suited to the urban half of this helmet's job.

One helmet, three configurations

🔵 A convertible helmet is a compromise by design, and the honest version is this: it does three jobs adequately rather than any of them perfectly. A dedicated jet is lighter, a dedicated trail helmet is better ventilated, and a road full-face is quieter.

What the District SV S offers is one helmet that covers a commute, a green lane and a summer evening without changing helmets.

About the Soul A2 graphic

The District SV S spends part of its life in city traffic, and city traffic is where a motorcyclist is least expected and most often looked through. A white helmet at head height is resolved measurably sooner than a dark one by a driver at a junction, and it sits above the headlight where the eye actually scans. There is a thermal benefit alongside it: much of this helmet's use is at low speed, where airflow does little, and a pale shell reflects solar load that a dark one converts into interior heat. 🔵 The cost is dirt, and a convertible helmet collects it in more places than a plain one — the peak mount, the vent caps and the camera mount all trap road film that a smooth shell would shed. White shows all of it. It cleans up completely, but it will not stay clean between washes. Against that, it is the coolest-running finish in the range in summer and the easiest to spot at a junction in November — on a helmet that spends part of its life in city traffic, that is the trade worth making.

HIRP, two shells and variable-density EPS

🔵 Variable-density EPS is worth pointing out at this price, because it is usually a premium feature. Rather than one polystyrene density throughout, the liner uses elements that absorb at different rates, so energy spreads through the structure instead of concentrating at one point.

The shell above it is HIRP, in two outer sizes.

The retractable sun visor

Sunset on a westbound road is the condition that decides whether a sun visor was worth having, and it is precisely the condition a peak handles badly — the sun is in front of you rather than above.

🔵 A retractable shield covers exactly that case and retracts in a second when the light drops.

The clear visor — and the Pinlock that does not exist for it

🔵 Being straight about the anti-fog situation: no Pinlock insert exists for the District SV S. On a helmet used in cold, wet, slow conditions — which trail riding largely is — that is a real limitation.

What works instead: cracking the visor, or removing it entirely and riding with goggles or glasses.

Intakes, exhausts and the vent caps in the box

🔵 The supplied vent caps are the detail worth knowing about. An open shell with fixed intakes is a summer helmet; one whose intakes can be capped is a year-round one, and the caps cost nothing extra here.

Fit them in winter, remove them in July.

The MT-MDTC closure

🔵 A micrometric ratchet is the right closure on a helmet you reconfigure regularly, because you are handling it constantly anyway — peak on, visor off, caps in, and back again.

Correct tension: one finger under the strap with the helmet on, and no more.

Interior, fit and washing

🔵 A new helmet should feel firm but never painful. The lining beds in over the first few hours and again across the first season, so a helmet that is perfect in the shop will usually be loose by the summer's end. Start tighter than comfortable.

Everything comes out for washing.

SportCam mount and intercom provision

🔵 A supplied camera mount is worth pointing out because most manufacturers charge for one, and a stick-on alternative on a shell with this much shaping rarely sits where you want it.

The intercom provision is Bluetooth-ready; no system is included.

Where it sits in MT's range

🔵 The clearest comparison: District SV S 89 € — open shell, removable visor and peak, no chin bar, no Pinlock. Track SV 136 € — full-face, fixed peak, Pinlock-ready, SHARP 4 stars.

Both are HIRP shells with ECE 22.06; only the District SV S converts.

When something wears out

🔵 On a convertible helmet the parts most likely to be lost rather than broken are the vent caps and the peak — both come off without tools and both end up in a drawer. Replacements are available.

Keep them together with the helmet rather than separately.
