DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Arai RX-7V Evo in the Nakagami GP2 replica livery brings genuine race-bred technology to everyday road riding — a helmet that earns its place on the daily commute just as readily as it does on a track day. Certified to the demanding ECE R22.06 standard and FIM homologated, it delivers the protection and refinement that serious riders expect without compromising on comfort or practical usability.
Key Features
- ECE R22.06 and FIM homologated — meets the most stringent current European and motorsport safety standards
- VAS MAX Vision visor fitted as standard for an expansive field of view in all weather and lighting conditions
- Pinlock anti-fog insert included — keeps vision clear on cold mornings, wet commutes and early track sessions
- Redesigned cheek pads with relocated side air channels moved to the rear of the pad, improving both airflow management and interior space
- Fully removable and washable interior using Arai's new Eco Pure material — easy to keep fresh with regular use
- Double-D-ring retention system for a secure, race-spec fastening that is equally practical for daily wear
- Five-year Arai warranty for long-term confidence in your investment
Race Heritage, Road Manners
The RX-7V Evo is the direct evolution of Arai's flagship RX-7V, updated specifically to satisfy the stricter ECE R22.06 homologation requirements introduced in 2022. The fibre-glass composite shell is shaped around Arai's proven rounded-shell philosophy — a construction designed to deflect and glide rather than snag under impact. The result is a helmet whose safety geometry is rooted in decades of top-level motorsport collaboration, yet whose day-to-day usability makes it a genuine all-rounder.
The Nakagami GP2 finish is rendered in a gloss paint scheme replicating the livery raced by LCR Honda's Takaaki Nakagami. It gives the helmet an unmistakable presence on the road without the weight penalty of a carbon shell — the fibre-glass composite construction keeps mass at approximately 1,550 g ± 50 g, a well-balanced figure for a full-featured race-replica lid.
Interior Comfort and Practicality
Arai reworked the cheek pads for the Evo generation, relocating the lateral ventilation channels to sit behind the pad rather than through it. This subtly changes the interior geometry in a way that improves airflow while making the fit feel more consistent across extended rides. The entire liner is fully removable and washable — a feature that genuinely matters when the helmet doubles as everyday transport. Note that the sport-oriented race fit means this model is not ideally suited to glasses wearers; riders who rely on corrective lenses may find the close, enveloping interior constraining.
Bluetooth and intercom systems can be integrated with some caveats; the RX-7V Evo carries partial communication-system compatibility as noted by SHARP, so check your specific intercom's fitment guide before purchasing. For size XL, be aware that the outer shell steps up one size (from shell 86 to shell 88), which is standard Arai practice to maintain interior geometry.

“The only helmet here with five SHARP stars, and the ventilation is genuinely the best of the traditional shells. You pay for it in weight — 1,568 g is a lot after two sessions — and the long-oval interior will not suit every rider.”
— the Inter-Pace crewECE 22.06 and FIM — plus five SHARP stars, rare here.
Double-D, emergency release, hand-laid PB-SNC2 shell.
Reviewers call the airflow the strongest thing about it.
Smooth shell, no snag points — Arai's long-standing rule.
1,568 g — the heaviest carbon-free shell in this field.
100 dB at 130 km/h, quiet for how heavily vented it is.
Peel-away padding lets you shape the fit over time.
Long-oval only — it does not suit every head.
The traditionalist's race helmet, still hand-made.
Old-school engineering, priced accordingly.
