DescriptionThe whole story▼
Suzuki's GSX-R600, built since 2006, is still raced widely enough in supersport classes that a lighter, more purposeful top yoke remains one of the first upgrades a privateer makes to the front end. Melotti Racing's GP top yoke for the GSX-R600 is a new design rather than a lightened copy of the stock plate, built to flex through the loads of turning into a corner while staying rigid when the front brake is loaded hard under braking, a balance the original equipment part was never designed around.
Key Features
- GP top yoke for the GSX-R600, a new design rather than a modified stock plate
- Built in aluminium alloy using CNC machines with 3D technology
- High flexibility under lateral loads for better feel turning into a corner
- Weight saving of over 120 grams compared with the stock top plate
- Vernier adjustment for the clip-on position
- Finished with black anodising and supplied with stainless steel, truncated-cone-head screws
Construction and Material Quality
Melotti Racing machines this top yoke from an aluminium alloy billet on CNC machines using 3D technology, and the finished plate saves more than 120 grams over the stock GSX-R600 top yoke while deliberately keeping more flex built into it under lateral load. That flexibility is the point rather than a compromise: Melotti Racing tunes it to give the rider clearer feedback as the bike leans into a corner, while the plate's rigidity under hard braking stays high enough that it does not feel vague when the front brake is loaded. The black anodised finish is fitted with stainless steel screws with a truncated-conical head.
Clip-On Position and Rider Fit
Beyond the weight and flex figures, the vernier adjustment built into the top yoke lets riders fine-tune the angle of the clip-ons without needing a jig or a separate adjustment tool, which matters more on a GSX-R600 shared between riders of different heights on a club team than a dedicated single-rider machine. A taller rider pushing the bars forward and down for a lower tuck, or a shorter rider bringing them back for reach, both start from the same top yoke rather than needing different clip-on hardware.
Fitment and Compatibility
Melotti Racing lists this GP top yoke for the GSX-R600 built from 2006 onward, and the same part is also listed for the Suzuki GSX-R750 (2006-2026). Melotti notes that confirming fit on later model years is worth checking directly with us before ordering.
Road Approval
No type approval or test certificate is on file for this top yoke, so Melotti Racing sells it for racetrack and closed-circuit use. A GSX-R600 fitted with it may not be ridden on public roads in Germany without separate registration, and at race events the organiser's own rules apply.
