DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha MT-09 is famous for its three-cylinder punch, yet a large share of them spend their days in traffic and on the commute. For that side of the bike's life, Accossato offers the AGPA97OR, a front pad for the MT-09 from 2014 to 2026 in the Organic (OR) compound. It is aimed at owners who ride the triple every day, want a front brake that works quietly from the first stop, and would like their discs to outlast several sets of pads.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-09, model years 2014 to 2026
- Article AGPA97OR: AGPA97 shape in the Organic (OR) compound
- Accossato says it lasts well and limits wear on the disc
- For daily riding, town traffic and quiet, cold-start stops
- Two pads per box, the set for one caliper
- The MT-09 has two front calipers, so a full change takes two boxes
- The shape is also made as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE available; offered for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's organic compound is the gentlest of its materials on this backing. The company sums it up as a pad that gives longer performance and limits wear on the disc. On a torquey triple used mainly for commuting, that is a sensible priority, because the discs are an expensive part to replace and most stops are gentle. Accossato's general design goals of controlled heat, reduced fade and good stopping force apply to the organic pad as well.
Everyday Riding on a Torquey Triple
The MT-09's engine makes it easy to ride briskly in town, and that means frequent small stops from moderate speed. On a cold morning the discs start at ambient temperature and most stops never heat them much. An organic pad is designed for this pattern: it bites from cold, stays quiet at walking pace and wears the disc slowly. A good habit on any naked bike is to squeeze the lever gently in the first few hundred metres, to clean the pad faces and remind yourself how the brake feels that day. If the bike is used in winter, rinse off road salt and check the calipers for sticky pistons more often than in summer.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato fits the AGPA97 to the front of the Yamaha MT-09 for model years 2014 through 2026, and the AGPP88 is catalogued for the rear. The MT-09 has been revised several times over that period, so compare the new pads with the old ones before fitting. It uses two front calipers, so order two boxes and replace both sides at once. Clean the pistons before retracting them, check disc wear and the brake fluid, and consider Accossato's DK077 and DKS073 discs if the old ones are worn. Pump the lever until firm after fitting.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE, test certificate or approval mark for this pad. The AGPA97OR is therefore offered for circuit and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two Accossato AGPA97 pads in Organic (OR) compound, one set for a single front caliper of the MT-09.
