DescriptionThe whole story▼
High summer brings its own kind of enduro riding. The ground is hard and loose on top, the tracks turn to powder and every rider trails a cloud of dust that hangs in the still air. On a Husqvarna FE 450 the big four-stroke has power to spare on dry trails, but visibility, heat and fatigue become the real opponents. Riders stand more, look further ahead and drink more water than they think they need. For the FE 450 of 2024 to 2026 there is a pair of enlarged Accossato footpegs in Ergal, in orange, blue or black.
Key Features
- Enlarged Accossato footpegs for the Husqvarna FE 450, 2024 to 2026
- Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
- More support for the boots on long, hot rides
- Intended for motocross, enduro and off-road riding
- Orange, blue or black
- Pair, one peg for each side
- Accossato lists separate sets for older FE 450 years
- No German ABE documented; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the part as footpegs in an enlarged size, made from Ergal and aimed at motocross, enduro and off-road use, and that is the extent of its technical information. Ergal is a high-strength aluminium alloy. The larger platform supports more of the boot's sole, which helps when the feet start to ache after hours in the heat. Each set is a pair, one peg for the left and one for the right, and for the latest FE 450 you can choose orange, blue or black.
In the Dust of the Rider Ahead
Dust is the first problem. On a dry trail the rider in front can disappear completely in a cloud, taking with them any view of ruts, rocks and holes. The simple answer is distance: drop back far enough to let the air clear, or ride side by side where the track is wide enough. Standing helps as well, since the eyes are higher and can see over some of the haze. Goggles with a clean lens, and a spare in the backpack, make a big difference on long summer days.
Heat is the second. Riders lose a lot of fluid under jersey, armour and boots, and concentration fades with it, so regular drinks and short breaks in the shade are part of the plan. The feet suffer as well: hot, swollen and pressed against the pegs for hours. A broader peg spreads that pressure and makes standing more bearable over a long ride on the FE 450. At the end of the day, blow or brush the fine dust out of the peg pivots before it mixes with grease and grit.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the FE 450 of 2024 to 2026 Accossato gives the FR809. Earlier model years have their own sets: the FR795 for 2014 to 2016 and the FR798 for 2017 to 2023. Double-check the year of your FE 450, compare the pictures and colours, and contact us whenever you would like a second opinion. The same FR809 is also listed in our shop for the FC 450, the TE 300 and the KTM 150 EXC.
Road Approval
No ABE, test report or other approval is on file with us for these footpegs; we offer them for competition.
