DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato front pad AGPA97 is also made in the EV2 racing compound, and it appears in the list for the Yamaha NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024 because the same pad fits many machines. EV2 is a racing mix, intended for timed sessions and hard braking zones rather than touring. On a NIKEN GT it is a specialist choice for owners who take the machine to closed-course events and want a compound built for repeated heavy stops from high speed.

Key Features

  • Front pad AGPA97 in EV2 racing compound
  • Accossato lists it for the Yamaha NIKEN GT, 2019-2024
  • Described by Accossato as a top racing compound
  • Made for repeated heavy stops in timed sessions
  • Aimed at closed-course use, not daily riding
  • Pair of pads for one caliper
  • Sister compounds: OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound, and that short statement sets its purpose: it belongs on a circuit, where brakes are used hard lap after lap. Accossato's general description of its pads adds low wear, less fading through controlled heating and high braking power. We quote those as the maker's claims. For any rider, the important point is that a racing mix is designed around the conditions of a race weekend, not a cold commute.

Closed-Course Sessions

A NIKEN GT on a closed course is a rare sight, but events for unusual machines do exist, and owners who enter them need brakes that stand repeated hard stops. EV2 is designed for that: session after session of braking from speed into tight corners. Allow the pads to warm with a few firm stops at the start of each session. For road use the ST or EV1 compounds are more appropriate, since a race mix is not built around cold, wet mornings.

Pit-Lane Checks

Between sessions look at pad material through the caliper, check that the lever returns firm and keep brake fluid fresh; heat ages fluid faster than road riding does.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPA97 is catalogued by Accossato for the MXT 850 NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024. With front brakes on two wheels, the NIKEN GT needs one box per caliper, so count yours before you order. Accossato also lists discs DK077 and DKS073 for the model. Change pads on the whole axle, clean the pistons first and bed the new set in carefully before timing starts.

Road Approval

AGPA97EV2 comes without an ABE or other test papers on our side; it is intended purely for competition and track riding.

Scope of Delivery

Two EV2 racing front pads with the part number AGPA97, sufficient for one caliper.
