Rain turns an enduro loop into a different sport. The KTM 450 EXC-F has pulling power to spare for deep mud, but only if the rear tyre can use it, and in the ruts that means working the clutch constantly with gloves that are soaked through. Accossato's C7283 is a folding clutch lever for the 450 EXC-F from 2008 to 2022. It is machined from Ergal 7075, has a longer blade for four fingers and a joint that gives it a chance to survive when the bike goes down in the slop.

Construction and Material Quality
Ergal is the Italian trade name for 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and Accossato machines the C7283 from a solid block of it on CNC equipment in Italy. The company's reasons are strength, low weight and reliability. The lever has two parts. A dark base sits on the pivot, and the blade, in the colour you order, is fixed to it by the joint. As a clutch lever it is long and made for four fingers, so the pull can be shared across the hand instead of resting on one or two fingertips.
Mud, Wet Gloves and a Slipping Clutch
In deep mud, a big four-stroke is only as good as its traction. Open the throttle too far and the rear tyre digs a hole; too little and the bike bogs down. The clutch sits between the two. Riders who manage the 450 EXC-F well in these conditions keep their fingers resting on the lever through the worst ruts, slipping it for a moment when the revs sag and releasing it as soon as the tyre bites. With wet gloves, a secure hold on the blade matters, and so does a blade long enough for the whole hand when a stuck bike needs a proper pull.
Mud also means falls, usually slow ones: the front drops into a rut, the bike leans over and settles on its side. Soft ground cushions the frame, but a lever can still find a buried stone or a root. The C7283 can fold forward on its joint instead of breaking. There is no promise it always comes through, but it improves your chance of riding out of the bog under your own power. At the end of the day, wash the mud out of the joint before it dries hard.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the C7283 for the KTM 450 EXC-F in two version groups, 2008 to 2013 and 2014 to 2022, at the original clutch mount. The B8283 folding brake lever for the same bike begins with the 2014 model, so riders of an earlier 450 EXC-F will find only the clutch side here. Red is offered on this lever but not on the brake lever.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented. The C7283 is sold for off-road and competition use and is not approved for a 450 EXC-F ridden on public roads.
