DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many Crosstourers do not stay as they left the dealer for long. Heated grips, auxiliary lights, a navigation mount, a power socket: sooner or later a switch or two ends up on the left handlebar, right beside the clutch lever. The ESH033 from Accossato is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the manual-gearbox Crosstourer of 2013 to 2018. With its adjustable reach and a choice of lengths, it can be set up so the clutch and the added controls share the space without getting in each other's way.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda Crosstourer with manual gearbox, 2013 to 2018
- Replaces the original lever at the clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Short blade for more clearance on a busy bar, in five colours
- Standard length approximately 138 mm
- Milled aluminium, anodised; black hub
- Fixed blade, no joint
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the ESH033 from a solid aluminium blank on CNC machines and anodises it after machining. The hub, where the pivot and the adjuster sit, is always black; the blade can be black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. The lever is fixed, a single piece from hub to tip without a joint, so the take-up of the clutch is not blurred by any play in the blade. Because the anodised colour is formed in the aluminium itself, it copes well with rain and road salt.
Room for Accessory Switches
Every accessory switch on the left bar competes for the same few centimetres as the clutch lever, the original switchgear and your thumb. If a switch is mounted where the blade passes at full pull, the lever may stop short or catch a finger. Before fitting the ESH033, look at what is on the bar and where: controllers for heated grips often sit close to the switch housing, light switches near the mirror mount. Fit the lever, then pull it fully with the bars in several positions, from lock to lock, and check that nothing touches the blade. Next set the reach and pull again, since bringing the blade closer to the grip also changes its path. The length matters here too. The short blade clears more of the bar and suits two-finger clutch work, while the standard one sits where the original did. Arranged sensibly, the controls let you work the clutch on the Crosstourer and press the heated grip button without letting go of the bar.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH033 for the Crosstourer with manual gearbox, the VFR1200X in Honda's own naming, from 2013 to 2018. The DCT version has no clutch lever and is therefore not covered by this part. For the right side of the handlebar, the EDF018 brake lever is listed for the same years, for manual and DCT bikes alike.
Road Approval
Accossato's ESH033 has no documented German ABE; the lever is offered for track use.
