Shell Construction and Build Quality
The outer shell is the defining feature of this helmet. Suomy's Tricarboco layup combines the rigidity of carbon fibre with the energy-absorbing properties of aramid and the compatibility advantages of fibreglass. The result is a shell that offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared with mono-material constructions, maintaining high torsional and vibration stability even under the stresses of repeated cornering loads. Producing the Track-1 across only two shell sizes ensures the liner and shell geometries remain closely matched at every head circumference, rather than stretching a single mould across too wide a range.
Visor System and Visibility
The panoramic visor aperture — 210° horizontal, 90° vertical — is among the widest available in the sport-helmet segment, giving riders full situational awareness through deep lean angles and during overtaking manoeuvres in traffic. The optical class-1 polycarbonate visor carries a scratch-resistant coating and varies in thickness from 2 to 3.5 mm across its surface for distortion-free vision. Tool-free removal and the lateral lock system make visor swaps straightforward at the roadside or in the paddock. The included Pinlock MaxVision 70 insert occupies the full usable area of the visor, eliminating the border that reduces the effective field on smaller inserts.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
The Track-1's silhouette was developed with aerodynamic stability as a primary brief: the aggressive racing profile channels air cleanly around the shell, reducing the lift and buffeting that cause neck fatigue over long stints. The ventilation architecture supports this — three generous front intakes feed conditioned air through dedicated channels moulded into the EPS liner, while a rear exhaust port expels warm air continuously. Interior Comfort
