Of the six Ducatis that share this part number, the Streetfighter V2 is the only one without a full fairing in the way. That sounds like a detail and is closer to the whole argument: a filter designed to be cleaned rather than replaced only repays what it costs if somebody actually opens the box, and the machines where that is a short job are the machines where the habit survives its first winter.
Key Features
- WorldSBK build: the racing weave carried in a carbon fibre frame, not bonded into a disposable surround
- Dry polyester used without oil, so nothing is applied after cleaning and nothing travels downstream
- 85 µm openings, 15,000 l/m²/sec — the highest flow rating Sprint Filter publishes
- Compressed air restores it; water and mild detergent are the exception, not the routine
- A direct exchange for the paper panel in the standard airbox, with no remap needed
- Two years of warranty, against a service life meant to match the motorcycle
The variable nobody prices
Every washable element is sold on the same promise, and the promise has one dependency: the interval is a habit, not a line in the service book. A paper panel is bought and forgotten; this one asks for twenty minutes and an air line a couple of times a year, and what decides whether it gets them is how much has to come off the bike first. The naked machine here sits at the friendly end of that. It does not change what the filter does — an element in a series airbox will not make a standard Streetfighter V2 noticeably quicker — but it decides whether the low, steady intake resistance that is the real benefit is still there in year three.
Two ways to buy the same weave
The F1-85 cloth in R127S F1-85-SBK is also sold for this airbox in an ordinary frame, at roughly half the price of the WorldSBK assembly, and against the standard P08 panel the gap widens to about five times. The medium is not what separates them; the carbon frame and its race-specification construction are. Anyone whose interest is the weave rather than the assembly should know that both exist before choosing between them.
Care and cleaning
Blow it through from the clean face outward with compressed air, so the dirt exits by its entry route instead of being pressed deeper into the weave. Twice a season, or whenever a wet ride leaves a film the air leaves behind, wash the cloth in hand-warm water with a mild detergent and rinse it until the water runs off clean. Then let it stand until it is dry through — no hairdryer, no radiator, no naked flame anywhere near polyester — and refit it dry and bare. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
For the airbox of the Ducati Streetfighter V2 955, listed here under model years 2020 to 2024. Five other Ducatis take the identical assembly: the Panigale V2 955 and the 899, 959, 1199 and 1299 Superquadro twins. Check the Fitment tab for the years attributed to each.
