Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Zontes ZT 350-R (2020–2026) SM277S

The 350 is the largest engine this element is asked to feed, and the fitment list starts a full hundred cubic centimetres below it. Whatever margin the housing was given when it was designed, the ZT 350-R uses more of it than anything else on the list. That makes it the machine in the family where a doubled filtering surface is least academic — and also the one where it is easiest to expect something the part was never able to deliver.

Where the extra surface earns its keep

Air demand climbs with capacity and with engine speed, so the largest machine sharing a housing is the one working closest to whatever the housing can supply. Flow is quoted per square metre, which means the total a filter can pass is a function of how much cloth is in it. More area at the same demand gives a lower air velocity through the weave, a smaller pressure drop across it, and a slower rate of loading per unit of surface — the last of which is why the interval between cleanings stretches out rather than shortens on the bigger engine.

The thing it still will not do

It will not add power. A slot-in filter cannot lift the output of a standard ZT 350-R, because peak output is set by capacity, valve timing, throttle area and the calibration written around them, and the panel is the last and smallest term in that chain. What the element genuinely changes is a restriction that no longer grows steadily worse between services, and a service item that is cleaned instead of bought. Anyone selling it as horsepower is selling the wrong thing.

Care and cleaning

Normal servicing is compressed air applied to the clean face and pushed outward through the weave. Oily deposits — the sort that build slowly over years rather than after one dusty ride — wash out with lukewarm water and mild detergent, followed by a thorough rinse.
