Everything Configurable Is Here
Ducati put the modes, the traction levels and the whole display menu on the left. A rider covering distance reaches this block far more often than anything on the other side of the bar.
A Legend That Outlasts the Bike
There is no printing on a machined body, so there is nothing for four summers of sunlight to remove. Owners of older bikes will recognise the problem immediately.
Threads Cut, Not Moulded
The fasteners run into aluminium. They take a proper torque figure and they survive being undone as often as the job requires, which a moulded boss does not.
A Clamp That Does Not Mark
Machined to the handlebar's actual diameter rather than approximately, so the load spreads across the whole radius instead of concentrating at two points.
Overnight, Not in Motion
The moisture that ends a terminal collects while the bike stands rather than while it is ridden. Removing the joint removes the mechanism rather than slowing it down.
Twenty Minutes, Either Direction
Two fasteners and a plug. Nothing is spliced, so the factory block returns just as quickly whenever it is wanted.
Twenty Litres
A tank worth having on a motorcycle bought for covering ground. It decides whether a day is planned around roads or around fuel stops, which matters more than any specification figure.
Eleven Degrees of Overlap
The number in the engine's name refers to how much less its valves overlap than the superbike unit it descends from. That change is what makes it idle through a village without protest.
Reviewed Politely, Bought Quietly
The SuperSport arrived into a market that wanted superbikes it could not use. Ducati built something people could and was largely ignored for it, which is what usually happens to sensible motorcycles.
