Nineteen Model Years
Honda kept the 600 RR's electrical architecture stable from 2007 through to the current bike. One eliminator covers the lot, which is unusual and useful.
The Supersport That Survived
Most 600s left the market and Honda brought the RR back. It remains one of the few genuine supersport machines anybody still sells new.
A Circuit Weapon by Default
More 600 RRs see track days than any other Honda. Preparation is routine on these bikes and the sidestand is always among the first things off.
What the Switch Does
It stops the engine with a gear selected and the stand down. Remove the stand and the same circuit reads as permanently deployed.
Restoring the Signal
This unit closes the loop so the ECU sees a retracted stand. The bike starts, runs and displays nothing about a component that is no longer fitted.
Nothing Cut
Honda's own connector is used throughout. On a bike that will probably be sold to somebody who wants it road legal again, that matters.
A Hundred and Twenty Horsepower
From 599 cc, revving beyond fourteen thousand. The 600 RR asks to be worked in a way modern litre bikes do not, and that is the whole reason people keep buying them.
Five Minutes With No Tools to Speak Of
One plug near the swingarm. It is the simplest item on any preparation list and it is invariably done first.
Not a Road Modification
On a bike that still has a stand, the interlock does a real job. This part is for machines that no longer carry one.
A Loom Honda Left Alone
Two decades is a long time for a manufacturer not to redraw a wiring harness, and it is the reason a single part number covers every 600 RR from 2007 onward. For anybody buying second-hand it also means the preparation knowledge accumulated on early bikes still applies to the current one, which is rarer than it ought to be.
