The eliminator plugs into the connector the switch used, so the loom stays exactly as Ducati built it. That is what makes refitting the standard switch a two-minute job rather than a wiring repair somebody has to unpick later.
Clearing an Old Fault
Where the switch failed before it was removed, the controller may already have logged something. The eliminator prevents new entries but does not erase old ones, so a few seconds with a diagnostic tool is worth spending to leave the record honest.
The Last Steel Trellis Monster
Ducati built this generation on the frame that defined the model for two decades, and it is now old enough that switches and sensors are failing on their own. The side stand switch sits low on the left, exactly where road salt collects, and it is one of the first to go.
