DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 017 satisfies the Dorsoduro 900's sidestand input so it runs with the stand and switch removed.
Key Features
- Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 (2017–2018)
- Satisfies the sidestand input
- No warning on the instrument panel
- Plugs into Aprilia's own connector
- Nothing cut, nothing spliced
- Standard switch refits at any time
The Last Dorsoduro
Aprilia enlarged the V-twin to 896 cc for the final version and then discontinued the model. It appeared for two seasons and disappeared without a replacement.
Ninety-Five Horsepower
From the Shiver 900 engine, retuned for a supermoto chassis. It has more midrange than the 750 ever had and it is considerably easier to ride quickly.
Why the Stand Leaves
Ground clearance and preparation. A supermoto reaches lean angles where a stand touches, and a bike used on a kart circuit loses it immediately.
The Controller Objects
With the switch gone it cannot confirm the stand is retracted, so the engine stops the moment a gear is selected.
Satisfied Correctly
This unit presents the expected state. Nothing appears on the panel and nothing is written into fault memory.
Parts Are Getting Harder
Two model years of a discontinued model means specific components are scarce. Keeping the loom original is worth more here than on a mass-market bike.
Five Minutes
One connector near the swingarm pivot, reached without removing anything.
Nothing Spliced
Aprilia's own plug and no cut wires anywhere.
Reversible
The standard switch refits with the stand at any time.
A Road Bike Keeps It
If the stand is fitted, leave the input connected.
Two Model Years
The 900 arrived, sold in small numbers and disappeared, which makes it one of the rarer Aprilias of the last decade. Anything specific to it is hard to source now, and that is a reason to keep the wiring exactly as it left the factory.
A Trellis and a Cast Subframe
Aprilia combined steel tubing with an aluminium rear section, which kept the supermoto geometry without the weight a full steel frame would have brought. The chassis was always the best part of the Dorsoduro and it remained so to the end.
