A Chopped Vulcan
Kawasaki fitted a smaller front wheel, a lower seat and different bars to the Vulcan 900 and produced a distinctly different motorcycle from the Classic.
A Twenty-One Inch Front
Which changes the steering completely and gives the Custom the stance the styling is aiming for. It is a genuine chassis difference rather than a trim level.
Before Any Dyno Work
Air arriving in the exhaust after combustion shifts what the lambda sensor reports. Every fuelling decision made from a run with the system live inherits that shift and compounds it.
A Job Worth Combining
Doing this alongside a filter change or an exhaust fitting means the tank comes off once. On its own it is a perfectly reasonable evening and a slightly wasteful one.
Blocking the Hose Achieves Nothing
The reeds stay in place and the ports stay open behind them. A blocked line redirects the problem rather than removing it, and the residue simply collects somewhere else.
A Component Nobody Is Told About
Kawasaki does not mention the Clean Air System at handover and the handbook barely acknowledges it. Most owners learn it exists only when an exhaust change makes its consequences audible on every closed throttle.
Two Minutes Once You Are There

Fuel Grade Is Irrelevant
Owners sometimes try different petrol before investigating the exhaust noise, which never helps at all. The reaction happens after combustion and no fuel grade changes what is left over to burn in the header.
