The JP ES 016 stops the Panigale 899 lighting a lamp failure on the panel when the number plate illumination has been changed for something the controller cannot see.

The Approachable Panigale
Less intimidating than the 1199 and quicker than most riders could use. It is the version that made the Panigale line accessible.
Why Riders Are Caught Out
The plate hanger is usually the first thing an owner changes, and nobody expects a small bulb behind a number plate to be electrically monitored.
A Tail Tidy Is Enough
Even without a race tail, an aftermarket hanger frequently drops the original lamp. The panel notices at the very next ignition cycle.
Recorded Somewhere
Anybody diagnosing the lighting later will assume the circuits are standard. A line in the service book prevents a wasted hour.
A Common Pairing
Plate lamp and indicator eliminators are frequently bought together, because the same tidy-up removes both and the same evening solves both.
A Straight Answer
The controller wants a specific load on a specific circuit. Supplying it is what separates this from a bodge that produces a different warning.
A Very Small Load
The lamp draws almost nothing, and the controller is watching for exactly that. Its absence is detected as reliably as a headlight failure.
What It Does Not Cover
Indicators, the brake light and the main tail lamp each sit on their own monitored circuit. Fitting this part clears the plate lamp warning and nothing else, so a machine with several lighting changes may need more than one answer under the seat unit.
Clearing the Stored Fault
The eliminator stops the controller storing anything new, but a warning logged before it was fitted stays in the memory until somebody clears it. A few seconds with a diagnostic tool leaves a genuinely clean record rather than one with an old entry sitting in it.
