A Sports Bike From a Twin
Yamaha put the MT-07 engine into clip-on bodywork and produced an honest, light sports bike that a one-make series formed around almost immediately.
Check the Immobiliser First
Where the key carries a transponder, the ring around the barrel is part of the starting circuit. That has to be settled before the barrel comes off.
The Button
A single sealed push button doing what the key did: arm the ignition, then kill it. There is nothing else to learn about operating it.
Why IP69K Matters Here
The unit sits in the open above the front wheel, taking everything the tyre throws up and everything a pressure washer delivers afterwards.
Keeping the Barrel
It is the part an inspection or a buyer will ask for, and the part that costs real money to replace. A labelled bag solves it.
The Connector Question
It matches what the ignition block used on that motorcycle. That is why the catalogue is a list of models rather than a list of sizes.
Access Varies, Work Does Not
Some models expose the connector immediately, others need the tank lifted. The twenty minutes at the yoke are identical on all of them.
What a Pressure Washer Does
It drives water past most seals. The IP69K rating is the answer to that specific problem and it is why the switch costs what it does.
Insurance Conditions
Policies frequently assume a working steering lock on a road machine. Reading the wording is more useful than assuming, and it takes five minutes.
The Immobiliser, Before Anything Else
If the key carries a chip, the aerial around the barrel belongs to the starting circuit and the engine will not run without it. Race looms and standalone controllers usually settle that already. On a standard bike it is the one thing that can stop this job.
