Standard on a Race Build
A V2 prepared for national supersport almost always runs a shorter throttle action. This block is the part that restores the controls the conversion displaced.
Supplementary, Not a Substitute
It mounts alongside the new assembly. The distinction is the one most frequently misread and it is worth resolving before ordering rather than after.
Rotation, Reduced by a Third
On clip-ons at full lean the wrist runs out of travel before the throttle does. Shortening the action removes a hand movement from every corner exit.
Titanium Only
A single anodised finish, matched to the quick-action hardware rather than the bodywork. On a race bike appearance follows function anyway.
Sealed to Military Standard
The elements inside far exceed road requirement. A competition motorcycle meets a hot pressure washer after every session, which is what actually ends switchgear.
Pre-Wired
Ducati's own connector, nothing cut. A bike returned to road specification for a sale shows no evidence of the conversion at all.
A National Class Favourite
The 955 cc Superquadro appears throughout supersport racing because it is light, willing and affordable to run relative to a litre bike.
A Hundred and Fifty-Five Horsepower
With a flatter torque curve than the 959 managed. Ducati developed the V2 for usability and it turned out to suit competition as well.
The Last Panigale Twin
Its successor uses an entirely new engine, which has kept interest in the V2 955 steady among people who care about the lineage.
Cheaper to Run Than a Litre Bike
Tyres, brake pads and a rebuild all cost meaningfully less on a 955 than on a V4, which is why club and national grids fill up with them. Racing on a budget is arithmetic before it is anything else, and the V2 is the Ducati that makes the sums work.
