Two point six eight kilograms off a 142 kg trail bike. That is nearly two per cent of the whole motorcycle, taken from a single component, and on a machine this light it is the change a rider will actually feel.

The Peak Figure Goes Down
Akrapovic publishes a gain of 1.3 PS at 5,100 rpm, and at the same time a peak output of 24.5 PS against the standard 24.9 PS. Both are their figures and both are true: the curve rises in the middle and gives up four tenths of a horsepower at the very top.
On a CRF300L that trade is almost certainly worth making. A trail bike lives at five thousand revs, not at its limiter, and 1.8 Nm there is worth more than four tenths of a horsepower nobody uses.
We would rather say this plainly than quote the gain and hide the peak.
Half the Weight of the Original
Honda's standard silencer on the CRF300L weighs 5.41 kg — a remarkable figure on a motorcycle that weighs 142 kg wet. It is a steel box sized for Euro 5 noise limits, and it hangs high on the right-hand side.
Removing half of it is the single most effective weight reduction available on this machine for the money.
Where It Can Be Used
Akrapovic is explicit that this exhaust is meant for racetrack and closed course use. The CRF300L is a road-registered dual sport, so this is a part for green lane and track riding rather than a road upgrade.
Shaped to the Bike
Akrapovic describes the silencer as sculpted to follow the lines of the motorcycle rather than bolted alongside them. On a CRF300L, where the frame, the tank and the side panels are all narrow and visible, an exhaust that ignores that geometry looks wrong immediately.
Pair It With the Header
The optional header E-H3SO1 is built specifically to extend what this slip-on can do. Fitted together they make a full system, and the header adds a lambda sensor thread for anyone who intends to tune further.
The Rally Version
Honda's CRF300 Rally uses the same engine and the same exhaust mounting under different bodywork. Owners of a Rally should check the silencer position against the fairing before ordering, since the Rally carries far more plastic around it.
