DescriptionThe whole story▼
The BP008 is the bracketed version of the 13.5 mm, short-lever thumb brake master cylinder, bolting straight to the bar with Accossato's own clamp instead of leaving mounting to the installer. The larger 13.5 mm piston gives a firmer rear brake response than the 10.5 mm units in this range, while the short lever keeps the thumb stroke compact. It is built for the same flat track, supermoto and adaptive hand-control uses as the rest of the family, aimed at riders and teams who want a complete, ready-to-bolt kit rather than a bare master cylinder.
Key Features
- 13.5 mm piston diameter for a firmer, more direct rear brake bite
- Short-reach lever for a compact thumb position close to the bar
- Matching mounting bracket included for a straight bolt-on fit
- CNC-worked aluminium body with a black hard oxidation finish
- Suited to heavier machines and riders who prefer a firmer brake feel
- 10 mm brake hose fitting matched to the larger piston
- Designed to pair with the double-ended MP005 for combined pedal and thumb braking
Construction and Material Quality
The body shares the CNC-worked aluminium construction and hard, black surface oxidation treatment used across the range, machined around the 13.5 mm bore to the tolerances needed for a firm, repeatable stroke. The mounting bracket is specific to this unit, shaped to hold the short lever at a sensible angle without catching on the grip or switchgear, and is fitted at the factory alongside the master cylinder rather than supplied loose. A 10 mm brake hose fitting is used throughout, matching the larger piston, and the internal seals and bore are unchanged from the bracket-free BP007.
Ready-to-Fit Kit with the Firmer Piston
Supplying the bracket together with the larger-piston master cylinder saves a step that otherwise falls to the rider: machining or sourcing a clamp strong enough to hold the extra force a 13.5 mm piston transmits through the lever under hard use. The short lever reach is unchanged from the smaller-bore version, so the hand position stays familiar even though the piston behind it is larger. In keeping with the rest of the thumb brake range, Accossato does not recommend running the BP008 alongside a separate rear brake master cylinder on one hydraulic circuit; the double-ended MP005 is the part built to keep both pedal and thumb control live together.
Fitment and Compatibility
The BP008 is not matched to any particular motorcycle in our fitment data; Accossato builds it, like the rest of the range, as a universal thumb brake master cylinder for bar, clip-on or perch mounting. Check the bracket's clamp size against your own handlebar before ordering, confirm your rear brake line takes a 10 mm hose fitting, and make sure the 13.5 mm piston suits the fluid volume of your rear brake calliper.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for off-road, competition and adaptive hand-control use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato BP008 thumb brake master cylinder with the short lever and the matching mounting bracket, finished in black CNC-worked aluminium. The fluid reservoir and brake hose are not included and must be sourced separately.
