DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sooner or later, every Hypermotard 950 SP that goes to track days stands on a rear paddock stand, and the stand changes how its owner looks after the bike. With the rear wheel lifted and the machine standing straight, chain, tyre and brakes are easy to reach, and the rear brake reservoir sits level for an honest reading. That makes the stand the natural place for a small job such as changing the reservoir cap. Accossato's TS012 is made for that reservoir on the SP of 2019, machined from aluminium and anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP, 2019
- Both SP variants of 2019 on Accossato's list
- For the original rear reservoir
- Aluminium, CNC-machined, anodised
- Seven colours: red, black, silver, gold, blue, orange, green
- Pairs with Accossato's FP004 oil filler cap
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The TS012 is shaped from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised afterwards; the colour, whether red, black, silver, gold, blue, orange or green, is part of that treated surface. Accossato designs the cap around the original rear reservoir of the listed bikes, so the rear brake of the Hypermotard 950 SP keeps every other part it left the factory with. When the old cap comes off, examine the seal or diaphragm below it and replace it if it has lost its shape.
A Job for the Paddock Stand
With the Hypermotard 950 SP up on its stand, start by looking rather than unscrewing. The fluid should sit between the minimum and maximum marks and look light, not brown; dark fluid has been in the system too long. If a change is due according to the owner's manual, do that first or have it done, because a fresh cap does nothing for tired fluid. For the swap itself, lay a rag over the paintwork and the plastics around the reservoir, since brake fluid attacks both, and keep a bottle of water within reach to rinse away any drop at once. Take the old cap off, fit the TS012 and close the reservoir promptly, because the fluid draws water from the air. Snug it down gently. Before the bike leaves the stand, press the pedal several times; travel and resistance should be exactly as before. Then lower the SP, push it a few metres and try the brake again at walking pace.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the TS012 for the rear reservoir of the Hypermotard 950 SP in both of its 2019 variants. The same cap is in our catalogue for the standard Hypermotard 950, the Diavel 1260 and the Benelli TRK 502. For this SP there is also Accossato's FP004 oil filler cap, and the two can be ordered in the same colour from blue, green, black, orange, red, silver and gold. Please check your Hypermotard 950 SP against the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
As we hold no approval documents for the TS012, such as an ABE or a test mark, it is offered for race and competition use.
