DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most braking on a Bonneville T120 Black is gentle. The stop that matters, though, is the one nobody planned: a car nosing out of a side road, a tractor around a blind bend. In that moment the hand has to close quickly and firmly on the lever while the ABS keeps the front wheel from locking. Accossato's EDF014 is a brake lever for the 2016 to 2019 T120 Black, machined from aluminium and fitted with a reach adjuster, so you can place the blade where your hand gets to full pressure without hesitation.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Bonneville T120 Black, 2016 to 2019
- Uses the original master cylinder
- Adjustable reach for a quick, full grip
- Long blade in blue, gold, green or orange for four-finger stops
- Standard blade about 138 mm in every colour
- Machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
- Rigid blade without a hinge
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining from solid aluminium, followed by anodising, gives the EDF014 its shape and finish. The hub is black on every version, which on the T120 Black blends into the dark finishes of the bike, and the blade is anodised in the colour you select. The lever is fixed, one continuous piece from hub to tip, so a hard squeeze goes into the master cylinder instead of into a joint. The adjuster for the reach sits in the hub, close to the pivot.
The Stop Nobody Planned
Emergency braking is a skill that fades if it is never practised. Many riders take their bike to an empty car park now and then to rehearse it: a firm squeeze that builds quickly, eyes up, arms relaxed, until the bike stops in a straight line. The position of the lever decides how fast that squeeze can begin. If the blade is too far away, the hand has to open before it can close, and that costs time. Set the EDF014 so that your fingers reach it from the grip with a small movement, and check that at full pressure the blade does not trap the fingers you keep on the bar. For riders who use the whole hand in an emergency, the long blade gives four fingers space and extra leverage. With ABS on the T120 Black, the aim is not to find the locking point but to reach strong braking quickly and hold it until the bike has stopped.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's list the T120 Black appears as the 1200 Black, with the EDF014 listed for 2016 to 2019. It fits on the original master cylinder and replaces the stock blade. The matching clutch lever for this bike is the EST333P, listed for the same years. Black and red blades are produced only in the standard length, silver in standard and short, and the long version in the four remaining colours.
Road Approval
The EDF014 carries no documented German ABE, so we sell it for track use.
